MUFFLER SHELL ENDSPINNING MACHINE WITH ENERGY RECOVERY SYSTEM

BERTA WR-Z is a muffler endspinning machine for muffler shells with lids. It performs a plastic forming process to flange and roll the edges of the muffler and inserted covers, closing the assembly as a complete muffler. Thanks to a fully numerical control over the motion of the forming arms and a possibility to install special tooling sets the machine is capable of working even with difficult, custom muffler geometries.

Our BERTA machines are equipped with an innovative energy-recovery system thanks to the use of cutting-edge electrical drives. This ensures much better energy efficiency in the production processes compared to machines offered by other suppliers.

The main features of the machine:

  • simplified tooling design,
  • capability of endspinning very large mufflers with difficult cross-sections,
  • short cycle time,
  • low noise emission,
  • low energy consumption in regard of the power of the installed drives due to the transfer of the energy between the drives and the actuators – electrical drives equipped with an innovative energy-recovery module.

The machine is capable of working as an independent single-operation work cell but primarly as an integral part of a complete automotive muffler production line. BERTA is fully compatible with our GOLIAT production line.

BERTA is equipped with an automatic muffler shell & lid feeder which places the parts into the workspace of the machine’s tool system, and after completing the endspinning process transports the finished product onto the end slide, where it can be safely collected by the operator. The muffler and covers are put manually into the automatic feeder inside a safe zone protected by optical barriers.
